Shamicka had her second vaccination today

Shamicka visited a local vet today. My high-spirited girl was very talkative in the car, maybe she was saying that she doesn't want to fly again...? The trip only lasted for about 5 minutes, so she didn't have to travel far.

The vet was clearly surprised to see how active and playful Shamicka was! Shamicka was also purring so much, that it was hard to listen to her heart :-D Everything went well, she didn't say a word when the vaccine was given. (She is purring ALL the time, what a lovely girl)

After the vaccination we slept for a few hours (I'm so exhausted, thank God it's friday tomorrow...) and then Shamicka was back in business again.

I try to get some pictures of the little one tomorrow :-)

Lulu finally made a breakthrough ;-)

Finally- Lulu got the chance to nurse Shamicka. Unfortunately the only pictures were taken with my phone, and my usb-cable is missing so I can't transfer them to my computer. But I'm sure I will get many more pictures in the future.

Shamicka was so happy :-) Lulu washed her complitely but when Shamicka tried to get milk from her, Lulu soon left ... After all, Lulu is a neuter girl and has her limits ;-)

By the way, Shamicka has gained 220g from saturday. Not bad!

A few pictures from last night

Shamicka has a black heart on her back :-)

Shamicka - full of speed

Shamicka is such a little monkey ;-) She is full of speed and always running up and down the latters. Yesterday she jumped on the bookshelf even though I was sure she couldn't jump so high.

Lulu tries to play with her, but Lulu gets easily carried away and her playing is a bit rough for Shamicka. But Shamicka can take care of herself... The others are very afraid when Shamicka jumps around and makes terrible noises :-D

When I weighted her yesterday, she had gained over 100 g (since saturday)! Not bad. She is constantly eating, so that may explain it :-)

I'll try to get some pictures of her tonight.

First "normal" day

In the morning I left at 6 to our strawberryfield and came back at 8. Those two hours Shamicka was in the bedroom and when I came home, she was shouting behind the door. She was not so happy being left alone for 2 hours.

I decited to leave her with the others when I left for work. I went to check up on them after a few hours and everything was fine. Shamicka was the first to come to see me :-) She was happy and playful so I guess she had been left alone while I was away. The others were so sleepy that they may have been sleeping most of the time.

After work I'm going to go and get her some Mastery food and maybe some new toys.

Things are looking good :-)

Roope and Shamicka just ate from the same plate. And no problem with that. I think that Roope loves kittenfood so much, that he didn't have the time to even notice that Shamicka was there, too. Lulu has been a little jealous today. Even though they have the same kind of toys, Lulu is constantly trying to take Shamicka's toy away... Saga in in the bookhself, because "Her Highness" is annoyed.

I left Shamicka with them for an hour today when I went to the store etc. Nothing had happened, but I think that I need to close her in the bedroom tomorrow. Let's see how things develope, maybe at the end of the week Shamicka can be with them the whole 7 hours when I'm at work.

We had a nap for about 5 hours today :-) I went to bed to read a book and Shamicka soon came there too. I just woke up an hour ago.. so let's see if I will get any sleep at night! Right now I'm not sleepy at all. But I have to get up really early tomorrow, because I'm going to pick strawberries before I actually go to work. So for a few weeks I will be doing two jobs.

A few pictures

Saga has something to say to Shamicka ;-) But Shamicka isn't afraid.

First night at a new home

I guess the first night went fine, at least all cats are still in one peace. At first I tried to keep Saga, Lulu and Roope away from the bedroom but they made such a noice (they beat the door, shouted etc.) that neither me or Shamicka could sleep at all. I never keep them out of my bedroom so naturally they weren't so happy..

After a few hours I let them in. Shamicka just came a little closer to me and started to sleep. I think she has been sleeping next to me the whole night, about 6 AM I woke up when she was telling Lulu to back off.. Poor Lady Luck, she usually sleeps next to me and wakes me up in the mornings.

Saga isn't SO pissed off any more ;-) She's even purring to me now. I don't know if she has been angry or scared? But Roope has been definitely scared. I think things will calm down within a few days.

Sleeping beauty..

I finally figured out how Shamicka could sleep without me being in the bedroom with her. So she is here next to me, fast asleep :-)

My Norwegian Princess is here :-)

^A few pictures from today. I will add the pictures that Toni took later.

Shamicka is finally home. She has been so brave the whole day. We have taken some naps together behind closed doors, because she can't relax when the other cats are around. I had decited that she would see the others tomorrow, but she refuses to be in the bedroom if I'm not there. So now she can go where ever she wants and if she shouts, I run there.. But is she says miau and I call her, she comes running :-)

Lulu loves her, but Shamicka doesn't realize it yet ;-) Lulu has had a few chances to wash Shamicka. Lulu seems to think that it's really unfair that she can't take care of Shamicka ALL the time. But maybe she soon can.. Saga and Roope on the other hand are not so happy about Shamicka and they are keeping a distance. But I think it will work out just fine.

Greetings from Sharma

I got a picture of Sharma today. He can still fit in the sink ;-) Even though it's a bit difficult...

Lulu's daddy is now a happy(?) neuter

I got a message from Hannele the other day saying that Lulu's father Piru is now neutered. Has been for a week now, and still seems to be a bit confused what has happened ;-)

Piru got 4 litters during his fertile days and maybe when he gets in shape, we will see him in some shows.

Lulu sends greetings for daddy: actually it's not so bad being a neuter at all.. :-)

Only 10 days to go...

Finally, less than 2 weeks to my trip to Norway. I have everything ready for my new little girl and I can't wait to get her home.

We had a major thunderstorm yesterday and all the cats loved it. How odd is that? They all sat on the balcony and looked at the lightnings. Of course it's a good thing that they aren't afraid, but just a bit odd that they were so anxious to see it all.

Still no heat for Saga :-( I guess the next one won't come until the summer is over. Her last heat was in February! I have my summer vacation in August and I was hoping that the kittens would have been born then. But obviously Saga doesn't agree with me..

Grandmother of Saga & Roope: EC Firdafylkes Jorunn, DM

I must say that lady Pyret has impressed me :-) She is so calm and has such a nice temperament! I see a lot of her in my own cats, for example Saga loves to be on peoples' shoulders and they have a very similar voice..

She already turns 8 this year but is still fit and in nice condition :-)

Hyvinkää, part 2

Another good day for Jambalaia and her children ;-) And today, King Kobra didn't lose when the votes were once again even..

So HUGE congratulations for
Chaotic Sidewinder EX1(2), NOM
Chaotic Rattlesnake EX1(3), BIV, NOM (1 vote)
Chaotic King Kobra EX1, BIV, NOM, BIS

and IC Pikkumetsän Jambalaia BIS breeding female, points: 116,66667 !!

Saga was EX2 out of 3 so this wasn't her day. Her judgment however was one of the best that she has ever gotten! Lind loved her expression but what can you do, the competitor was just better :-)

Saga's grandmother Pyret got her CAP but her own daughter took the nomination. Pyret however was in the veteranclass also and was second best female out of 8. Not bad, the birman who was selected as nro 1, is a tough competitor! Congratulations for the whole Kalabalik gang for the certificates, too :-)

I'm hoping that Saga will soon have a heat. At least she got something from her ex, Suvipäivän Igor, to take home to ;-) and she can now smell that peace of cloth and think about happy thoughts.. Congatulations to Igor for his 5th CACE! And for Suvipäivän Ivor for CAGPIB and SmileTail's Night Bird for CAPIB and NOM!

Ery's catshow in Hyvinkää, part 1

I was in Hyvinkää today without cats of my own. Saga will go there on sunday but today I was just hanging around ;-) and helping Susanna to present one charming cat. Susanna's cat Pikkumetsän Jambalaia is Saga's dear competitor and 3 of Jambalaia's offsprings were present at the show -and with great results once again. Chaotic Rattlesnake was EX1(2), BIV and NOM (1 vote in the panel), Chaotic Sidewinder was EX1(2) and BIV and the one that I presented; Chaotic King Cobra was EX1, BIV and NOM. He got 2 votes in the panel, but the votes were even with a van and when judges voted again, he lost. SO close, but yet so far away... Jambalaia was still the best breeding queen with points as good as 106,6667. Maybe this will help Susanna to forget the points she could have had (110) from Tampere, but she was in Tallinn at the same time ;-)

Even though Kingi didn't won, a few forestcats did; BlackOnyx Bustopher Jones was BIS kitten and Restless Desperado BIS adult.

I also got to see a few really lovely Deimos kittens :-) Those ears are just fantastic! Kittens looked a lot like their father Vinski, who was CAP and NOM at his first neuter show.

Tomorrow I get to see Saga's grandmother Firdafylkes Jorunn again and maybe even present her, if Tina doesn't have the time :-) And also Saga's aunt, Cosse's sister Kalabalik Athena af HG, is coming. Those two lovely ladies are so charming and so beautiful! And Jorunn has the same voice than Saga ;-)
