Little helper :-)

A quick update...

I forgot to post some pictures of Iines yesterday... I will put them up when I get home from work :-)

Saga weights 4,7kg, so she has gained around 500 g in 4 weeks. I also forgot to look what the numbers were during her last pregnancy, but probably they were lower, because her weight dropped for 2 weeks before it started to go up. The whole amount was 2 kg ;-) She loves to eat...
Saga didn't lose much weight during that 12 weeks when she was suppose to take care of the kittens ;-) She weighted about 4,5 kg when I got her home... So she was in her usual condition and had better coat than ever before. I think that she is dropping her coat right now, so she won't look as pretty in the kittenphotos ;-)

a little over 5 weeks to go..

Saga is sure that kittens are on the way, so I guess I'm hopeful too ;-) She can't stand Lulu and Iines right now... Only Roope can come near her without her making a lot of ugly noices ;-) Maybe Lulu and Iines are too active or something, because they are constantly playing or running etc. Roope is such a lazy cat fowadays, so he fits Saga's activity lever perfectly...

I woke up this morning to the sound of someone throwing up, yack. And the best part is, that I couldn't find the puke! I looked the usual places, but surprisingly this time it wasn't near my bed waiting for me to step on it... or somewhere on my path to the bathroom ;-) Usually they always puke some place that I'm most certainly going to walk by in the morning, eyes half closed..

I think that the one that was feeling sick was Saga. Lulu was near by and Roope was sleeping on top of a bookshelf. Iines had just been purring next to me a minute ago. (well, she rarely is anywhere else but next to me. I wonder how she will manage when she and the red ones are forced to stay out from the bedroom when the kittens are little?)

Iines still has 4 days of antibiotics left, so she isn't able to attend to the show in Porvoo. She would have had Joelle Monney Pillonel as a judge, so I'm a bit disappointed that she can't go. It would have been nice to hear what she had to say about her. But of course it's best to keep her at home anyway, since it would be very unfortunate for Saga to catch something from the show..

However; Täplä is still going to the show and I'm going to pick Marja and Täplä from Vantaa in the morning and we'll drive to Porvoo from there. Roope's brother Paukku is also coming, and so is Veikko with her boys; Igge, Iffe and Nagge :-) I hear there will be a GIC- celebration for Leevi ( Deimos CrisCraft Sportsman), and I'm looking forward to that.... :-D

Toni took some pictures of my cats on Sunday, so I'm also looking forward to getting the photos :-) I hear there are some nice pictures of Iines (she was running like mad when we were outside ;-))

Kittens :-)

It's been three weeks from Saga's date with Häjy and I strongly believe that she is expecting kittens! She has gained weight, her nipples have become swollen and red, and most of all: she acts like she owns the world and walks like she is just ready to deliver ;-) She is a funny cat...

She has had some fake pregancys before, so I'm not 100% sure that she is actually pregnant. But I'm at least 98% sure ;-)

Kittens will be born in the first week of November (44), probably at the end of the week.

Iines is feeling better :-)

Iines has been a bit apathetic for a week. She was even too "tired" to play over the weekend, not even a new toy could get her to lighten up. I took her to a vet on Monday and they draw some blood and took a sample from her mouth (she has a few cuts there). The bloodtest showed that there is something going on with her and she was given antibiotics. The vet didn't want to run any more tests right now, so now we are waiting for the results from the skin sample.

My own guess is that she is allergic to something, maybe fish? So I'm trying a fish-free diet for her now. If it doesn't work, then I have to take her to new tests. The antibiotics at least are working and she is herself again. She purrs and talks and plays :-) She has started to eat turkey! And when I tried to get her to eat it a few months ago, she wouldn't even taste it! She would also eat pork (only roast of course;-)), but I'm not giving them any -at least for now- because I don't know what's causing those symptons in her mouth. She had been scratching herself a bit, so it could be an allergy. Or not. But we just have to wait and see.

To the show in Porvoo isn't going to happen next week, but that doesn't matter. The most important thing is that she is feeling better again :-)

Iines :-)

As you can see, Iines has started to grow herself a coat :-)

Iines visited a vet today, because she has something in her mouth. She was such a brave little girl, she even let the vet draw some blood and said absolutely nothing!
