Pennut melkein 2 viikkoa

Pennut ovat tänään aktivoituneet huomattavasti! Aamulla vielä möllöttelivät lähinnä paikallaan pesässä, mutta töistä tullessa oli jo kömpelöt leikit käynnissä <3 Diiva erityisesti tuntui kunnostautuvan muiden kiusaamisessa, puri Liitua hännästä ja yritti vähän painia... Voi toki olla, että vahingossa kaatui ja pentukasa oli valmis :-D Sööttejä naperoita!

Yritän huomenna saada 2 vk kuvat, jos vaan kelit suosii ;-) Mun kamera kun ei ota mitään kuvia, ellei valoa ole tarpeeksi...

Kittens 1,5 weeks

Kittens are now about 1 week 3 days old :-) Hopefully there will be new pictures tomorrow!

Abeona's Sharma, Grand International Premior!

Sagan ja Iggen kuopus, GIP&CH FIN*Abeona's Sharma<3.. kuvassa nuorena poikana, mutta tänä elokuussa tulee mittariin jo 3 vuotta.

Sharma sai ensimmäisen CAGPIB sertinsä viime elokuussa Tallinnasta, jonka jälkeen vuorossa oli marraskuun Turun näyttelyssä 2 x CAGPIB ja 2 x BIV. Seuraavat 2 CAGPIB sertiä tulivat tässä kuussa Tukholmasta ja nyt 6. tänään Turusta!

Pennut 1 viikon!

Etualalla Infinity "Iita" :-)

Liberty "Liitu" näyttelee naamaansa :-) Diivaksikin kutsutusta Destinystä ei yllättäen ollut yhtään räpsäisyä...

Pennut ovat jo viikon ikäisiä :-) Ja tänään on paluu arkeen... Työviikko jää onneksi vain 3 päivän mittaiseksi, joten kohtahan on taas viikonloppu. Yritän tänään saada uusia kuvia pennuista, jos Iines suostuu yhteistyöhön. Jos ei, niin sitten täytyy odotella :-) Yllä olevat kuvat on otettu muutama päivä sitten.

Saga has decided that she needs to help Iines with the kittens... As you can see, there really isn't room for 2 and Iines looks a bit stunned ;-)

Iines' dna tests :-)

I finally got and answer from VGL today! I sent the samples on 26th of February but they arrived in the lab only a few days ago.

Here's the result:

Agouti Result:
A/A - All offspring will have agouti banded hair.

Dilute Result:
D/d - One copy of dilute allele. Cat is a carrier of dilute.

As I suspected, Iines can't have non agouti kittens... But it was quite a surprise to me that she carries dilution (2 of her siblings were dilute and parents are carriers, so I thought that it was only a small chance that she would be a carrier, too)! Kassu and Tiikeri both carry it too, but still no dilute colours. Maybe I should use for example a creme male next time ;-)

Kittens are doing well and they have names, too :-) I didn't have time to update my page in the morning, but I named the kittens last night. They are Destiny, Liberty and Infinity :-) (songs by Stratovarius....). Weights have gone nicely up! Destiny had gained 32 g from yesterday morning!!! Liberty 22g and Infinity 17g. Destiny is the biggest kitten at the moment (170g) and Infinity smallest (158g). Liberty is between them (166g).

Kittens!

Iines finally had her kittens yesterday! I haven't been able to take decent photos of them yet... Iines doesn't want me touching the kittens much... however she wants mee to keep her company all the time! Now that I moved my computer in the bedroom, I won't get so bored...

Tomorrow I have to go to work, but I think Iines will manage 8 hours without me :-)

It's only day 65 and I'm bored, tired and a "bit anxiously" waiting for something to happen. I wouldn't even be expecting them yet... but since the first litter was born so early, I thought this might be the case this time, too.

Iines has considered her options and it seems that sturdi is her favourite. She only sleeps in the cardboard box if she has company there ;-) (you should have seen Saga yesterday when Roope and Iines were in the box together! She was so pissed off for not been able to fit in there and decided the perfect solution to the problem was to destroy the whole box!)

Iines eats and sleeps and that's about it. Maybe tomorrow...

Day 63

Here she finally is.... Unlucky Lady Luck, with her new "look".... It has been difficult for me NOT to laught at her expression, but I have managed to keep my poker face ;-) She seems to be embarrased enough as it is, so I can't even imagine how she would be, if I would laugh at her...
She looks funny, but is obviously feeling a lot better! She is changing her coat so our home-operation with Marja and Toni didn't help for long. We removed every knot that we found (several of them) and the next day - I found 7 more!!! So I had to take Lulu to see a vet, who sedated her and trimmed the coat off.
A suprised-looking Lulu ;-) She has been sleeping next to me when I watch tv, plays a lot and purrs very loudly. She wasn't happy the first couple of days, but now she is clearly feeling better.

Roope :-) As anxious as ever...

Iines wants to "hang around" with others, but doesn't have the energy to play with them anymore. Saga and Iines cuddle a lot and look so happy together. I'm still no sure whether to let Saga participate in the delivery or not. Iines will ultimately decide that (of course), but the last time my parents picked Roope and Saga to their place...

Saga hates closed doors and was really unhappy to be on the wrong side of the door. She kept so horrible noices that Iines was really stressed out. Maybe this time she isn't so stressed, but let's see...

Things are really calm and quiet around here at the moment. Roope doesn't bully the girls and they all seem to be getting along nicely.

Day 60

Only 7 hours of work tomorrow and then winter holiday \o/

Iines was still in one piece in the morning and hopefully she is the same when I get home... I'm not expecting her to give birth just yet, but you never know what will happen. She kept on waking me up at night, but her reason for doing so was hunger ;-) She wanted treats and kept rubbing my face with her paw until I got up and fed her. A few times I tried to close my eyes and go back to sleep, but she didn't leave me alone until she got a few treats.

If it was any other cat, I would have gone straight back to sleep ;-) But Iines is so sweet that I can never be "angry" at her. And after all, she was hungry so she didn't wake me up for no reason. I'm hoping that she will wake me up when she is ready to deliver the kittens. At least she woke me up the last time :-)

She still manages to wash herself so the belly isn't big at all.

But now I'm heading back to Mäntsälä from Nurmijärvi, where I was working today. Tomorrow I will be in Mäntsälä the whole day, so I can go and check up on Iines during the day.

Day 58

Kittens are getting more active in the belly! Iines isn't very happy about this... There seems to be at least one who is hyper-active and moves around all the time. Iines has been eating more the last couple of days and has gained total of 1,2 kg.

I only have 3 days of work after today, then I can focus on Iines totally!
At first I was suppose to be on holiday for the whole next week, but now it seems that I have to work on friday... It's not so bad though, because of that I get to keep and extra day off... so I have monday and tuesday off on week 13. I just hope that the kittens will be born before friday, otherwise I'm in a lot of trouble ;-)

Iines 2 vuotta tänään :-)

Muistan hyvin, miten innolla odottelin Solinan synnytystä 2 vuotta sitten. Lasketun ajan tienoilla oli juuri Seinäjoen näyttely ja olin huolissani, että olisin nettipimennossa viikonlopun. Hotellilla oli kuitenkin netti, mutta en sitten kuitenkaan jaksanut illalla jonottaa omaa vuoroani koneelle. Ajattelin että eivät kuitenkaan ole syntyneet ja jos ovat, niin sieltä ei minulle riitä tyttöä. Alun perin minua edellä oli 2 kyselijää, jotka myös olivat tyttöä vailla. Mitkä olivat mahdollisuudet, että tulisi enemmän kuin 2 tyttöä - ja että se kolmas ei olisi joku surkea :-D

Sunnuntaina kun kotiuduin, minua odotti sähköpostissa viesti pennuista ja kuviakin :-) Tyttöjä oli kuin olikin kolme ja onnekseni yhdet kyselijät olivat ottaneet aiemmasta pentueesta uroksen. Toisille minua edellä oleville ei ollut niin väliä pennun tasolla, joten yhtäkkiä yllättäen olinkin listan kärjessä! Aluksi ajattelin että tietysti otan kilpsu bicolourin, siitä ei ole epäilystäkään... Jostain syystä päädyin kuitenkin ruskeatiikeri/valkeaan tyttöön seitsemäksi viikoksi, ennen kuin vaihdoin taas kilpsuun <3

En ole kyllä katunut valintaani hetkeäkään! Iines on mitä ihanin pieni pörriäinen, joka rakastaa makoilla sylissä rapsuteltavana ja seurailee minua joka paikkaan. En hankkinut Iinestä näyttelykissaksi, mutta on sillä kaikki ihan kivasti oikeilla paikoillaan ja pari titteliäkin se on saanut. Vähän laihan puoleinen se on, joten jos massaa ei vaan kerry niin ura leikkaamattomana on kyllä auttamattomasti ohi. Vaan samapa tuo :-) Ensimmäisen pentueensa Iines hoiti mallikelpoisesti ja itselläni ei ensimmäisinä viikkoina ollut muuta osaa, kuin kantaa Iinekselle ruokaa :-) Toivon mukaan toinenkin pesue hoituu yhtä helposti!

Friday, 54th day of Iines' pregancy

I have no clue why I'm awake at the moment! But since I couldn't sleep, I thought that I might as well get up, feed the cats and maybe update my homepage. For several mornings I have woken up around 5 AM because Roope keeps so terrible noices. Apparantely he is afraid(?) of Iines, because every time I go to check things up, he is in the bathroom with Iines, and Iines seems to be doing fine. This morning the same happened and I didn't even have to look at my phone to see what time it was: it's always 4:45. However today I couldn't get back to sleep anymore. Maybe I already got enough sleep, who knows.

There is still around 10 days left before Iines is due to have her kittens. She hasn't gotten much weight lately and probably she is expecting only a few kittens. Maybe 2 or 3. She and Tiikeri's sister Molla were mated around the same time and Molla has gained more weight than Iines. At first they gained the same amount for several weeks but now Molla is way ahead of Iines. Everything is ready for the kittens, so now the only thing I can do is to wait :-)

Next friday it will be day 61, so I'm hoping that they won't come before that... Otherwise they can be too small to survive.

Takuton Lulu ja nirso Iines

Lulu on vihdoin takuton! Kiitos apureille, onneksi suuremmilta vaurioilta vältyttiin... Lulua pitelemään tarvittiin 2 ihmistä ja 1 sitten heilui kamman ja saksien kanssa. Parilla naarmulla selvittiin, vaikka Lulu hetkittäin olikin aika kovasti sitä mieltä, että hommat loppuu tähän. Nyt voin perua sen eläinlääkärin, onhan se kivempi ettei aina tarvitse rauhoittaa operaatiota varten.

Iines ei edelleenkään syö kovin hyvin :-/ Olen nyt vähän enemmän tunnustellut mahaa ja kaiken karvan alla se on aika pieni kuitenkin. 2 ja 3 pentua on veikattu, saa nähdä montako tulee! Sagalla on edelleen isompi mahan ympärys kuin Iineksellä, joten se kertoo jotain tilanteesta... Tietty kertoo se jotain Sagan painostakin ;-) mutta silti...

Maanantai...

Tänään ei oikein kulje englanniksi, joten suomeksi vaihteeksi... Yleensä kirjottelen englanniksi sen takia, että Iineksen kasvattaja ymmärtää ja samaten Sunnan omistajat :-) Pysyy samalla englanti mielessä joten kuten, kun niin vähän tulee sitä nykyään käytettyä. Ehkä pitäisi taas hakeutua englanniksi opiskelemaan jotain, MUTTA ei enää ikinä liiketaloutta ;-) Sähköpostia toki tulee kirjoiteltua melkeen päivittäin, mutta viimeksi olen tainnut puhua englantia siellä Kreetan reissulla.

Iines nirsoilee edelleen. Paino on kuitenkin noussut ihan suht hyvin taas, yhtäkkiä lauantaista sunnuntaihin tuli melkeen 100 gramman hyppäys. Nameja se vonkaa koko ajan, se on keksinyt kivan tavan vetää verhoa sen verran, että herään ja sitten tulee sängyn viereen odottamaan namia! Se ei ole koskaan ikinä ennen tehnyt mitää kiellettyä! ;-) Järkytys. Nytkään se ei revi verhoa alas, liikuttelee sitä vaan sen verran, että saa mut hereille. Tämä tapahtuu joka aamu viideltä. Iines on tarkka ajan kanssa... Ei pitäisi antaa periksi, mutta säälittää kun toinen on niin nälkäinen...

Nyt on vuorokausia kasassa 50, eli pari viikkoa pitäisi vielä olla jäljellä. Jos laskisi synnytyksen osuvan vuorokaudelle 66, niin olisi vielä 2 viikkoa ja 2 päivää, 63 vuorokauden mukaan viikko ja 6 päivää. En malttaisi millään odottaa pentuja!! :-) Kiva nähdä minkälaisia "tyyppejä" sieltä tulee.
